Standing Together Against Early Child Marriage & For Adolescent Girls' Wellbeing
SINDHU Society, in collaboration with the District Child Protection Unit Jamshoro, conducted a community mobilization session at Miskeen Colony Kotri, bringing together women, girls, boys and volunteers to raise awareness on the Sindh Protection of Child Act (SPCA), early marriage prevention, and adolescent girls’ nutrition & psychosocial support. The session was led by Mr. Ameer Kolachi (Director Social Welfare & Child Protection Officer) and Ms. Farzana Airy (President, SINDHU Society). Community members were also briefed on the Child Protection Helpline 1121, so every report of abuse or violence can reach help quickly and confidentially.

47 Trees for 47 Years First Annual Plantation Ceremony

SINDHU Society successfully organized its First Annual Plantation Day today at Govt. Girls Elementary School, Muslim Town, Jamshoro, under the “47 Trees for 47 Years” initiative. The event was graced by Mr. Muhammad Tarique Kaka, ADC-II Jamshoro, as Chief Guest, along with the Deputy Director Primary Education Jamshoro, Mr. Kareem, Deputy District Director Education Mrs. Rozina Baloch, School Principal Mr. Yaseen Shahi, Mrs. Saima, over 20 teaching and non-teaching staff, more than 100 school children, CDI Focal Person Mr. Saeed, and the SINDHU Society program management team.
The ceremony opened with recitation of the Holy Quran, Naat, and a Waai by Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, followed by a warm welcome to the Chief Guest and dignitaries by the school administration. Guests were presented with traditional Ajrak and Sindhi Lungi by the Founder&Executive Director of SINDHU Society.
School children performed tableaus, and the School Principal shared remarks appreciating both the students’ performance and SINDHU Society’s plantation initiative.
The Chief Guest, ADC-II Muhammad Tarique Kaka, formally inaugurated the plantation drive, after which saplings were planted by Mrs. Farzana Airy the DDEO and school children. Sapling gifts were distributed among students, teachers, and all dignitaries, including the Chief Guest. In his closing remarks, the ADC commended SINDHU Society’s environment-friendly plantation activity.
The day also marked the birthday of SINDHU Society’s Founder, Mrs. Farzana Airy, and the event was themed to reflect her passion for environmental care and engaging the younger generation, especially girls in nature conservation.
In celebration, the SINDHU Society team, the ADC, and all guests extended birthday wishes, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony.
Over 100 saplings were distributed to children, and gifts were given to participants of the tableau and program activities. Local media covered the event throughout.
Special thanks to the ADC Sahab, who fulfilled the time commitment he had promised, encouraged us throughout the program, and extended his support all the way through to the school.
District Monsoon Contingency Plan Validation Workshop Jamshoro
SINDHU Society participated in the District Monsoon Contingency Plan Validation Workshop held at the DC Office Jamshoro, chaired by DC Jamshoro Mr. Ghazanfar Qadri along with ADC-2 Mr. Muhammad Tariq Kaka.
SINDHU Society commits to providing women hygiene and dignity kits during emergencies ensuring the dignity and specific needs of women and girls are prioritized in disaster response.
